The Egyptian Film Producers Lab (EFPL) is a pilot project supported by Drosos Foundation and implemented by Baroud LLC, a Cairo-based organization established by leading professionals from the Egyptian film industry. EFPL is Egypt’s first incubator dedicated specifically to professional film producers, addressing a critical skills and entrepreneurship gap in the cinema and media sector.
The project targets 15 emerging Egyptian film producers aged 18–35, with a focus on youth with limited access to professional training and industry networks. Through a yearlong, practice-oriented program of workshops, seminars, mentorship, and applied learning, participants develop technical, business, and soft skills needed to launch sustainable careers.
Participants are supported to pitch projects to industry professionals, access employment, internships, and self-employment opportunities in Egypt and the wider MENA film and media industry.
